Taking window measurements for roller blinds may seem like a piece of cake, but believe it or not.. it’s not… and people often tend to mess it up. Worry not… just follow our simple tips.
Use a metal measuring tape instead of the flimsy plastic one,
Always take three measurements from three separate points along the axis and use the smallest one out of the three.
If you’re taking measurements for a blind for a window within a recess, take exact measurements from end to end within the recess. If you’re ordering venetian, roman or roller blinds, reduce the final measurement by 1cm for smooth extension.
If you’re taking measurements for a blind that is to be placed outside a recess, take exact measurements from the outside of the recess. Add 10cm along the width for full coverage and reduce the length by 1cm so that the end of the blind does not catch the sill.
If the window is without a recess, measure the exact width of the window and add 10cm for maximum coverage. Decide how far down you want your blind to fall and measure till there.
We advise that you double check all of your measurements.
