And in case you’re wondering what that means… it’s French for inner artist. Here at Ostanding.com, we perfect the art of customizing your blinds to your personal style… and you will be surprised at the limitless possibilities that go as far as your imagination can run – wild!

So as a kick start, here are five timeless paintings… not necessarily French… that we think would make for fantabulously roller-coasterous window decor. Come on and paint the canvas… urrr… the blind!

The Mona Lisa

Alright… if you’re an eccentric art buff… or a woman with low self esteem, this would make for one hell of a blind for you. Still don’t know why, but this masterpiece painted by Leonardo da Vinci during the Renaissance period of a pretty… or pretty ugly woman with a deceptive smile that’s literally worth a million gazillion dollars has driven the world crazy. But what’s important, whether sad or happy, she always looks good up on a wall and will look better on your window. And if her mysteriousness is daunting you a bit too much, faceroll her to take a breath of fresh air from the outside.

The Last Supper

Oh and wouldn’t this be a perfect roller for a big picture window in an even bigger dining room? No that’s not cheesy it’s sumptuously flavorsome. Restaurants, banquet halls and fine dining – this opulent painting has it all on the table. And your guests can have a spoonful debating over whether its Mary Magdalene or John the Apostle to Jesus’ left in between courses. Just to clarify… we’re not deliberately dishing out Leonardo da Vinci; it’s just that his work is finger lickin’ good!

The Scream

The Scream

Like most people, we don’t know why either – but he’s probably yelling at you to… make him your roller blind?! This depiction of a screaming man against a burning sky is part of a series expressionist paintings and prints by Edvard Munch that are quite artsy indeed. And the strong use of hues… red in this case… makes it a workable idea for themed decor. You can make whatever you want of his screaming, but your windows are definitely going to be yelling ‘artiste swag.’

The Creation of Adam

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel is definitely one cei-ling worth see-ling. But it’s about time this nudist and allegedly homosexual masterpiece got a new home… YOUR HOME! This massive little roller blind will be high on Renaissance and high on detail… and will get you high on your hormones too! The paintings within this single frame will always be there lingering on your window giving you something to ponder over… from obscure conspiracies that have been hidden throughout the ages to why in god’s name did Michelangelo paint this on a ceiling when he could have rendered it on a window just as you did to you figuring out your true sexuality – a window for thought!

Sunflowers

Sunflowers

Awwwe… aren’t they just adorable? Come on… this has probably got to be the most commonly knocked off painting ever. So why not just redo this Vincent van Gogh classic yet another time – not for the wall… but for the window. It’s going to be just like looking at your very own indoor garden… a bit deformed though. But that’s okay… that’s always been the best part about van Gogh. The irony though is that you normally put up roller blinds to blackout the light… this one’s quite sunny on the other hand.
