Some Paint And a Roller Blind

Some Paint And A Roller Blind

Alright… so we said that we can customize them for you – which we can – but in case you’ve got a white roller blind up on your window, you can do the job on your own too.

Roller blinds are typically made out textiles and plastics. Depending on your rollers, you can whip up some art on them yourself.

The most common form of rollers are fabric based. You can easily paint on these with any water or oil based paint. Cotton is the most absorbent and hence the best for being experimental with layering different types of paints. Silk on the other hand can be a lot more tricky, but the results are a lot more rich in color and texture. You can even use a variety of paints commonly used in many fabric painting techniques.

Plastic roller blinds are a tad bit difficult to paint on with a brush or roller owing to the nature of the surface. You’d have to use spray paints or vinyl based paints. The best part however is that unlike painting fabric based blinds in which the base color still resonates through the absorbed paint, vinyl paints are generally opaque and can completely conceal the original color of the blind for a new look.

So you can pretty much paint them solid or try something more artsy depending on how you’re doing your decor. Though we would advise you to opt for something that’s non-toxic and not too smelly either.
